Plan for Future Translations

As you may or may not know, Oyaji Kanojo has a lot of chapters (439 at the time of this post). And as you surely know, my translating speed is far from ideal for this amount of chapters. Frankly, I’m even slower than the author’s speed in releasing chapters (when I started, there are “only” 360+ chapters).

In other words, I’m fighting a losing battle.

Unlike those dedicated translators who can pump out chapter after chapter daily, I’m only doing this in my (keep dwindling) free time out of personal satisfaction. Therefore, the prospect of taking a lifetime to finish the series I’m working on thoroughly demotivated me from time to time.

Thus, I decided to drop Oyaji Kanojo after I finish translating the first arc (around chapter 30+) and pick up a new series in its place.

Having learned from my mistake, this time I chose a completed series with an encouraging amount of chapters (35 including side stories). The catch though, is that this series is much, much harder to translate than Oyaji Kanojo. In fact, it’s probably in the top 1% of WN in terms of flowery language usage.

The title is Muyoku no Seijo wa Okane ni Tokimeku / The Altruistic Saintess is Thrilled by Money. Have a synopsis.

Leo, a cheapskate boy who likes money more than anything, because of an unexpected circumstances, had his body swapped with a beautiful girl named Leona.

Leona was a young marchioness who lost her place in the noble society because of a false accusation. Then, unwilling to go to the academy filled with those nobles, she tried to escape by using sorcery.

Promised with an attractive sum of reward, Leo decided to go to the academy in place of Leona.

Leo was someone who, if appeared in the academy, would be chased away immediately. However, now with his (her?) peerless beauty and peculiar values, Leo was being mistaken as a [ Pure Maiden ] by his (her?) surroundings. The marquis couple, an imperial princess, and even the first imperial prince all began to have an interest?

This is the story of Leonora Von Halkenberg, who came to be called as the [ Altruistic Saintess ].

To tell the truth, I haven’t read this either aside from the prologue. But it is the highest ranked short-completed-gender bender series in Syosetu when sorted by the number bookmarks, so I guess it has to be somewhat good at the very least. I’ll release the first part of the prologue later today.

Hopefully, I’ll do a better job this time around. Thanks for your understanding.

In other news, Oyaji Kanojo chapter 22 is delayed because it’s literally almost twice as long as chapter 21.

OK Chapter 21: Breaking Down

A few days had passed since then.

I, who should’ve been a middle-aged man, am now already used to act like a high school girl, having completely adapted to my new life.

I close my legs when I sit on a chair, and mind my skirt when I use a stair.

I also held my breast when leaning forward while wearing clothes that shows my neck.

Being stared at by men was undoubtedly revolting, but more than that, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of superiority as a popular woman.

Even though until recently, I didn’t know anything about women at all.

It’s somewhat a mystery. Continue reading “OK Chapter 21: Breaking Down”

OK Chapter 20: Lecture

A week had passed since then.

I’ve been playing games with Komori after school, only returning home at 18.00.

“I’m home~”

As I took off my shoes, I noticed the shoes of my younger sister, Akemi.

She normally only come home at 20.00, so today she returned early, huh.

I went into my room on the second floor. Then, when I was changing my clothes, the door was knocked.

“Onee-chan, can I come in?”

Akemi opened the door slightly, peeking through the gap. Continue reading “OK Chapter 20: Lecture”

OK Chapter 19: Cheer up!

After school, Hashimoto appeared as Yuuko and I were about to go to Komori’s house.

“Natsumi, I want to go home together as well.”

When I looked at Yuuko, she nodded.

Since she was okay with it, then going together with him should be fine.

Just to be sure, I tried to confirm about his relationship with Komori.

“Hashimoto-kun, we are going to Glasses-kun’s house. You….. never bullied him, right?” Continue reading “OK Chapter 19: Cheer up!”

OK Chapter 18: The Lunch Break Incident

I moved my chair to Yuuko’s desk once the morning classes finished.

The guys started to mock us upon seeing that.

“What’s with those two, so disgusting. Aren’t they lesbians?”

“That should be true. Seeing how fast they get close to each other.”

“So the reason Oono always rejected men is because she only like women?” Continue reading “OK Chapter 18: The Lunch Break Incident”

OK Chapter 15: Bath

When I arrived at the dojo building, Itou was chatting with a clerk girl at the office.

She was someone I secretly had a crush on, Sasaki-san.

Even when she was speaking ill behind my back, I still gave her a souvenir from my business trip, but she swiftly threw it away to the garbage box.

I couldn’t endure it and stopped going to the dojo.

Now, my mind was in an uproar when I saw her. Continue reading “OK Chapter 15: Bath”

OK Chapter 14: The monthly thing

Yuuko asked me with an astonished face.

“Why? Why did Nacchan able to do something like that?”

Komori made a proud expression as if he was the one being complimented.

“Natsumi-san practiced Karate ever since elementary school. That’s why things like just now are just a piece of cake for her.”

“Heeh. So that’s how it is. So cool~”

Ooh. I get to be called cool. Continue reading “OK Chapter 14: The monthly thing”

OK Chapter 13: Bullying target

The next day.

I walked towards the bus stop with a bright mood when Miyu approached.

“Natsumi, you did a really terrible thing, you know!? Do something about it quickly!”

“Eh? What terrible thing?”

“Noriko was really angry about yesterday, she said she gonna make you get ostracized! When you get to school, you should swiftly apologize to her or else…..”

Ah. Yesterday’s matter. Then, I won’t apologize.

Since I did nothing wrong. Continue reading “OK Chapter 13: Bullying target”
